Luna Valley Farm

 Our beef is 100% grass fed and finished. Our calves are born on pasture and our cows spend their entire lives grazing sweet grasses on our farm and neighboring farms throughout the season. We move them often to make sure they always have access to the type of high quality feed that leads to marbling and good fat in a grass finished steer. In the Winter they enjoy high quality stored feed (hay and haylage). With our beef you get rich omega fats. Our cows are never fed grain nor administered antibiotics.

Wholes, halves and quarters by hanging weight (best value)

 In this scenario you would reserve a whole, half or quarter steer and make a deposit at the time of reservation (Deposits: $400 whole / $200 half / $100 quarter). We would deliver the animal to the locker and you would call the locker to provide your cutting instructions. We would send you an invoice for the hanging weight of the animal. You'd pay us for the hanging weight and you pay the locker directly for processing when you pick up your meat. The locker we use is Quillins in Waukon. Your processing bill depends a bit on what you have them do and can vary.

A benefit of purchasing beef in this way is that you have access to the heart, liver, tongue, shanks, soup bones, which adds over $250 of value to your purchase of an entire steer! Customers purchasing halves and quarters also have access to their portion of these bonus cuts.
